United States H1 Scrap Metal Prices Up Slightly in June 2008

It is reported that America has quoted US$740-745/ton CNF for H1 scrap to South Korea.
The price was US$20/ton higher than that of the previous order due to tight supply.
However, compared to the South Korean market, the import quote in Taiwan is obviously lower. Current quotation of H1 & H2 mixed is CNF US$660-665/ton to a Taiwan port.
Australia’s Sims Group has settled contracts with Taiwan’s buyers for large shipments; therefore, American dealers were forced to cut their prices in order to make a deal.
