Japanese H2 scrap mills price has increased to ï¿¥18,000/ton in the Kanto region, after Tokyo Steel announced to raise its scrap purchasing price by ï¿¥1,500~2,000/ton.
The export price of H2 scrap was being quoted at around FOB ï¿¥22,000/ton in last week. The buyers in China, Korea, Taiwan have resumed their purchase of scrap gradually.
Taiwan’s scrap prices soar
Taiwan’s scrap prices have rose to NT$8,600~9,000 /ton, about NT$300~400/ton higher than the prices in the central and northern part.
Feng Hsing has raised its scrap purchasing price by NT$500/ton this week, bringing its base price to reach NT$7,400~8,000/ton.
Experts said that this growth of scrap prices were mainly due to rising international scrap prices. At present, the U.S. scrap prices reached US$290-330/ton.
