Global Scrap Metal Prices on the Rise
U.S. scrap prices on rise
Due to shortage in scrap supply, U.S. scrap prices continued to rise. Compared with Early of June, U.S. busheling scrap price in the East Coast rose by about US$60/ ton, while in the central and western regions, it rose by US$95/ton. Currently, the busheling scrap price in East Coast reached around US$295/ ton, shredded scrap price hit US$255/ ton.
Japanese H2 scrap average price on rise
During the first week of July, Japanese H2 scrap average price in the Kanto region, Central Japan and Kansai region was at ¥24,088/ton, increasing by ¥434/ton compared with the previous week. The average price has risen for successive four weeks. Specifically, H2 scrap price in the Kanto region was ¥24,917/ton, up by ¥167/ton; that in central Japan was ¥22,780/ton, up by ¥300/ton; and the price in Kansai region was ¥24,567/ton, up by ¥834/ton.
