US scrap price to Taiwan increases
As scrap local price increased in US market, the export scrap price increased as well. This week, the price of scrap (80:20) to Taiwan has increased to C&F US$297/ton by US$7~9/ton from previous C&F US$288~290/ton.  Some Taiwan’s mills have accepted the price at C&F US$295/ton to import scarp from US, which is about NT$150/ton higher than Taiwan’s domestic price.

Japanese H2 scrap average price increases last week

Last week, Japanese H2 scrap average price in the Kanto region, Central Japan and Kansai region was at ¥23654/ton, increasing by ¥450/ton compared with the previous week. The average price has risen for successive three weeks.  Specifically, H2 scrap price in the Kanto region was ¥24,750/ton, up by ¥417/ton; that in central Japan was ¥22480/ton, up by ¥600/ton; and the price in Kansai region was ¥23733/ton, up by ¥333/ton.

Turkish scrap prices to soar

Turkish domestic and import scrap prices sharply went up recently in line with more demands of both export and domestic markets.  Turkish buyers are replenishing their stocks, which has pushed scrap prices edging higher. America offered Turkey US$270/ton for scrap and US$290/ton for shredded scrap. Moreover, the black sea scrap offer has heightened to US$295/ton in the Turkish market this week. Although the rebar price benefits from increasing scrap price, the demand nevertheless remains weak. The current rebar price is US$490/ton in the Turkish market.
