China Steel Corp. raises wire rod prices
China Steel Corp. (CSC) has announced the new prices for bar and wire and they only slightly raised prices for high and medium carbon wire rod considering the acceptability of downstream users and Infrastructures development.
CSC’s wire rod prices averagely go up by NT$1,777/ton, and the increase of high carbon wire rod price is NT$200/ton less than low carbon wire rod price.
The low carbon wire rod normally uses for making screws and the high and medium carbon wire rods which generally use for making steel strand which mainly use for infrastructures.
Quintain Steel lifts wire rod prices for June
Taiwan’s Quintain Steel announced to lift its wire rod prices by NT$1,000/ton for June. The new price rise is reasonable and in line with the market expectation.
As China Steel Corp has raised its price by NT$1,800/ton and the iron ore price might go up in the third quarter of 2010, Quintain Steel decided to increase NT$1,000/ton for all its wire rod prices.
Besides, its new price for Al-killed, Rimmed, Blast furnace killed wire rod prices are NT$29,000/ton, NT$27,000/ton and NT$26,000/ton respectively
