Some steel makers in India, such as Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), JSW Steel have raised their prices of long and flat steel products since Indian Federation intended to increase the excise tax from 8% percent to 10 percent.

Indian scrap prices continue to drop. Indian steel scrap price have declined due to weak demand.
Currently, India procurement price of container scrap is about US$240~250/ton(CFR) while last week’s price at US$250~260/ton, down by US$10/ton.
