Japan’s scrap increasing rate to slow down
The pace of new production scrap price rises in Japan seems to slow down.
Hyundai Steel has decreased its purchasing prices by ¥500-1,000/ton for Japanese scrap, at FOB ¥78,000-78,500/ton. The price was as high of ¥78,500-79,000/ton before.

Japan’s scrap prices rise
Japanese scrap prices have soared.
Current base price of H2 scrap in Kanto region is prevailing between ¥68,500~¥69,000/ton, and that in Osaka is around ¥70,500~¥71,000/ton.
Tokyo Steel has raised its scrap purchases prices by ¥1,000/ton on July 2, as it reached ¥71,500/ton at Utsunomiya plant.

Tokyo Steel increases scrap buying prices
Japanese Tokyo Steel has increased its domestic scrap buying price by ¥1,000/ton, effective from July 2.
After the adjustment, H2 scrap price was increased to ¥68,000~71,500/ton.
Tokyo Steel’s H2 scrap purchase price at its Okayama plant will be at ¥70,000/ton, and ¥69,000/ton at its Kyushu plant.

Current price of H2 scrap in the Kanto region has reached ¥64,000~¥64,500/ton on strong demand.
Some main steelmakers have increased the scrap purchasing price on May 29, as Kimitsu mill of Nippon steel has raised H1 scrap buying price by ¥1,000/ton to ¥69,000/ton.
A traders is confident that the market will remain buoyant as supplies tighten.

Japan’s stainless scrap purchasing price has been reduced by ¥30,000/ton in May.
