In recycling news, Yieh reports that US scrap export prices to Taiwan remain stable. Quotes of the US HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Taiwan are at US$347~US$348/ton, remaining unchanged from a week ago. Industry sources predict that the transaction prices would be at US$345/ton CFR. Meanwhile, it’s expected that the Taiwanese steel mills might return to purchase the US scraps, driven by increasing demand for rebar.
Always carry a magnet – a magnet will help you tell ferrous metals from non ferrous metals. Magnets stick to ferrous metals. Happy Scrapp’in!
